Key Statistics
Parkside Place Wembley Waterproofing Case Study
Parkside Place in Wembley is a large-scale residential development featuring multiple balconies requiring reliable waterproofing. With ongoing construction and multiple trades active on site, the solution needed to be efficient, durable, and quick to apply without disrupting progress. Using WestWood’s Wecryl waterproofing system, the project delivered a seamless, fully bonded membrane that ensured long-term protection while supporting a fast-paced build programme.
Seamless Balcony Waterproofing Solution
Wecryl 230 was applied to create a robust, seamless membrane across the balconies, ensuring complete waterproof protection before the installation of paving slabs. This approach delivered a reliable barrier against water ingress while maintaining efficiency during the construction process.
Balcony Waterproofing Challenges
The project required an effective waterproofing solution across numerous balconies while other trades were actively working on site. This created challenges around timing, access, and maintaining installation quality without causing delays. The system also needed to perform reliably in varying conditions and integrate seamlessly with the wider construction schedule.
Efficient Application
Fast installation to keep pace with active construction.
Seamless Finish
Fully bonded membrane with no weak points or joins.
Durable Protection
Long-lasting resistance against water ingress and wear.
All-Weather Performance
Consistent results in both warm and cold conditions.
The Benefits
Wecryl products effortlessly followed the substrate to provide a fully bonded monolithic seamless membrane. Wecryl products are also self-terminating providing a tough waterproof solution.
Due to their rapid curing nature, damage by other trades was kept to a minimum as the product had cured whilst the approved operatives were present on site. Ease of application was also evident as the required number of tins could comfortably be taken to the balconies that were being waterproofed at the time.
Due to the size and scope of the project, the product was required to be installed all year round, the colder temperatures caused no concern and did not prohibit progress as the works continued.
