Brief Description
The multi-storey car park at Oskar-Kühlen Street in Mönchengladbach offers its customers approx. 330 parking bays in the city centre. The car park was built in the 1980s using a prefabricated concrete, modular construction system. The reinforced concrete ramps were constructed on site. The first two car park decks, which are the ones most used, were due for refurbishment at the end of November 2011. The contract was awarded to the Solingen-based construction company JUNG Bauflächentechnik. They have extensive experience in refurbishing multi-storey car parks and keeping them open at the same time. This was the winning argument for the clients, B + B Parkhaus GmbH & Co KG from Düsseldorf. Particularly in the run-up to Christmas, operators cannot afford to close their car parks to carry out necessary building work. The refurbishment was carried out with WestWood's Weproof structural waterproofing system with AbP [DIN 18195] approval.
