Brief Description

Every day around 350,000 people pass through the central railway station in Zurich. More than 130 retailers, restaurants and take-aways can be found at Shopville-RailCity-Zurich, which also has access to the S-Bahn rapid transit system. The much-used access stairs are exposed to all weather conditions, including snow, water and environmental pollution. In just a few seconds the combination of moisture, dirt, rain or slush can turn each step into a hazard, with accidents waiting to happen. AG for Liquid Resins, Hartmann Engineering GmbH and WestWood Kunststofftechnik AG worked together to find a suitable, reliable and non-slip solution: The PMMA-based resin delivers a heavy-duty, non-slip coating which, together with the stainless steel Safe-Step edging, makes the stairs safe for foot traffic in all seasons.
